My fishermen!
Since the weather has started to warm up Dex and the boys have become quite the fishermen. Last week they caught 7 catfish! Dexter got a little creative and decided to put trolling motor on the back of our paddle boat! Yes, I did say a motorized paddle boat! That is my wonderful husband, he wouldn't be Dexter if he wasn't coming up with these crazy ideas. Dexter, our good friend Ryan and the boys took the boat out to Smithville Lake to lay catfish lines to soak overnight. I was really worried about the boys going--its never good to try something out for the first time when the kids are there! I am glad we invested in life jackets a few years ago! When I talked to Dexter tonight he told me the funniest story! I guess Preston was completely scared. He didn't say a word the whole time they were on the boat, P just sat there wide eyed watching with his life jacket on.Preston must have been terrified because Preston is never quiet. Dex said that he started crying that he was scared on the way back to the truck. He then decided to tell me that the kids boots got wet because it was a "little bit" rough and water was splashing in the boat. I can only imagine how unsafe it was for them to be out in the middle of the lake on a motorized paddle boat. I think I would have been a bit scared myself. It was probably a good thing I wasn't there! Ethan on the other hand was completely opposite from Preston. I guess E wanted to get in the water, kept hanging over the side of the boat and found it very cool to pee off the edge of the boat. (Thank god for boys!) Dex said that once E found out he could pee off the boat he wanted to poop off the edge of the boat. Dex said it took a whole lot of convincing to get E off that idea. It sounds like they had so much fun and I wish I could have been there with them!
