Bored!

Here I am bored on a Friday night! The kids are sleeping and I have nothing to do. I have worked the last three nights and I am not tired at this point. I have a huge heap of dye on my hair and I think I bought a level too dark. Such an amature I am--I went to Sally's today and bought the dye. Couldn't remember if I should get a level 5 or 4, some reason a 4 stuck out in my head so I got it. I went to start dying my hair and oops guess what? Forgot to buy gloves--let me tell you the dye burns your hands like no other when you don't have gloves and I think I spattered dye all over my bathroom. Carla is going to freak when she sees what I have done. I guess that is what a girl does when she is home by herself on a Friday night.
I think this month with Dex away is going to be rough, I have to admit the first 2 weeks while he was gone was kinda nice, I enjoyed my time at night alone but now I just want him to be here to hang out with.
Well gotta go rinse this stuff out of my hair--wish me luck in how it turns out and be kind if it is bad!!!!

Quick Update!

The last few weeks have been pretty lonely for me and the boys with Dexter gone. He came home Friday and we had a great weekend together. Monday he left again and is now heading to Cincinnati, Ohio for a month. Yes, I said a month! It is pretty crazy to think of him gone for so long but all in all it is a short period of time (or at least that is what I am telling myself). The boys and I plan on heading up there next week to stay with him a few days. I think this will be good for the kids so they can see what he is actually doing while he is gone and maybe to better understand it. Between you and I , I am not looking forward to driving 9 hours with a 4 and 2 year old. Good thing for TVs in the mini!
Since I am working nights they boys are spending alot of time at my moms house. It is hard for Preston because he just wants to go home and play with his toys. He had a melt down last weekend with Dexter's mom crying that he just wanted to go home--I feel really bad and don't know what to do. I just ensure that when are spending alot of time at home while I am off. Ethan on the other hand is so laid back about everything that he doesn't really seem to mind.
I spent Saturday at Amber's House helping her paint the nursery--Let me tell you there is never a dull moment we spend together! With us, if it is not one thing it is another. Although it makes for good laughs once we are done.
Hopefully I will have time this weekend to post some new pics.

The Holidays are finally over!

The hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season is over--Thank god for that. I really enjoy all the outings and things to do but sometimes it just wears me out! I was lucky enough to have been cancelled 4 out of 6 shifts in the last 2 weeks. I have spent some much needed quality time at home with the fam.
We spent a great New Year's Eve at Jessica and Jeremy Harpers. They had a shindig at their house--which happens to be less than a block from ours. It is so nice just to walk home after a long night of drinking. Dexter and I decided that we were full time regular drinkers that night. Lets just say Cuervo Silver was a great friend of ours until about 2 am.
Friday we took the kids to watch Uncle Mike race his go-kart at Kemper Arena--Dirtzilla. The kids had a blast. They were on such a sugar high from having nachos, shaved ice and cotton candy. I love taking the kids to watch the races. Growing up I spent every weekend with the family racing. It was such a great thing to do together. Most of the family vacations we went on were traveling around racing. My Mom and Dad actually spent their honeymoon in the 70's in Amarillo, Texas so my dad could race at the midget nationals. Boy, my mom must have really loved my dad for that.
Dexter left Sunday to spend 2 weeks in Louisville, Kentucky. He is working with a friend of ours remodeling 9 rooms at an Extended Stay America Hotel. It was a hard decision for us to make due to the kids and me working nights but thank god our parents are wonderful and stepped up to help us out. It is well worth the money and will help alleviate the financial pressures that I have been facing with being the only income.
O'by the way---Dexter started working for this guy Mike who ownes Earth Creations--it is a landscaping company. Well if you are looking for a landscaper---DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT hire this company. They owe Dexter money and we even had a check bounce from them. Dexter worked really hard for this guy during the many ice and snow storms in December and the guy will not pay him for it. I understand that financially everyone is struggling but come on you have been in the business for 10 years and you are going to write someone a check that you are not good for then completely ignore him and not answer his calls when you still owe him a paycheck. All I have to say is thank god for job security in the healthcare field.
On a more positive note--I am looking forward to what 2009 has in store for us. May all of our dreams come true this year!
